UP & DOWN WEEKEND, BUT ALWAYS FUN TO TRAVEL TO NEW TRACKS!
On Friday, we unloaded pretty good right off the bat. We were very satisfied with this seeing it was the team's first trip to Utica-Rome Speedway Unfortunately, it did not take long at all for our night to get turned upside down. With nowhere to go, Andrew was involved in a first lap accident that resulted in a flat tire. The crew were able to get it swapped out under the caution, but unfortunately a few laps later, Andrew discovered that the flat was not the only issue. A broken rearend would force the team to retire early and watch the rest of the race from the sidelines.
All of this damage would also force the team to miss Saturday's feature at Fulton Speedway. Then, a rainout on Sunday allowed the team time to finish all repairs and be prepared for the make-up race on Monday!
The team again unloaded a really good piece on Monday, which is a testament to all their hard work! Andrew was able to charge from 11th to 6th, but would fade a little in the later stages of the race, but not before collecting his first top 10 finish at Utica-Rome.
Andrew and the crew definitely feel like they were better than the finishes show, but at the same time, they were overall pleased with their first trip to Utica-Rome, and are already looking forward to their next trip there on September 28th!
